Hi
I have now had to navigate through automated answering services and telephone menu systems a couple of times and it is a real pain on the 5800.
Initiating a call; then calling up the keypad; then options; then paging down to send dtmf; then entering the required number & then hitting the tick only to have the input screen vanish so you have to do it all again at the next set of service options.
Is there any method or utility which will hold the dtmf input screen open and allow multiple inputs until dismissed, so you can navigate such menus in the same way as a phone with physical buttons?
Thanks
Sounds like a lot of unnecessary faff to me - I just select 'dialler' from the screen when in a call and the numeric keypad comes up - just select the numbers from there.
Not sure whether this is firmware dependant though - I was on v11, then v20 before my phone went to the menders - it's still there having a new screen fitted - d'oh!
Give it a try.......
First thing I tried.
Because I had never heard tone dialing called "dtmf" before I then had to search the various forums until I found the method I describe on a nokia 5800 blog.
I'm with O2 and stuck with v11 firmware. I await v.21 before trying for an upgrade 😊
Reading around the news items I'm wondering if the new capacitive screens would be able to be fitted, whether a major firmware upgrade will be needed and if it will be much of an improvement for the money?
