just a quick question, whats the question about when you try to search for updates OTA ?

something about defining a profile?

Just updated my euro 1 phone via OTA... all looking good so far (5 mins ago!!). Will post in next day or two how it has gone.

First impression... noticably faster!

2 questions :

1. This firmware isn't present via NSU. Why ?

2. Are the data erased with this upgrade or as for the 20.0.0.12 the data are kept ?

Thanks.

1..only certain product codes are being updated at the moment...look at your code (under battery) and see via navifirm whether yours is on the list..if you dont want to wait then change your code via phoenix or jaf to one on the list then upgrade....

2...all my data and contacts etc were kept when i upgraded but then i have all my themes and apps on my memory card..

1. It should be on NSU now or soon, availability depends on which product code model you have (i.e. where you bought it from and who you bought it from).

2. No data erased. All new Nokia devices preserve user data when doing updates. (Though of course backups are always a good idea when updating any device...)

Which codes are working? I've tried several Euro 1 Red, British Isles and none seem to be working? Is it anything to do with server settings. the phone was a prezzie from America but a Euro version and updated fine the last time round.
Cheers,

Cheers,

These product codes have v21 available for them....

0575408: 5800 HK CV B V2
0581337: 5800 HK CV BK V2
0575407: 5800 HK CV R V2
0576387: 5800 RM-356 FI CV B 25 TRACKS V1_COLOR
0580456: 5800 RM-356 FI CV BK 25 TRACKS V1_COLOR
0576385: 5800 RM-356 FI CV R 25 TRACKS V1
0582194: 5800 RM-356 Wind IT R V2

Change to one of these with phoenix then you can download v21!

Personally, I'll be waiting for the official release. Don't want to void my warranty. Doesn't make sense to lose warranty for the sake of a couple of weeks or less.

'no updates available'

Thanks

Have you tried searching via NSU as opposed to via your handset - these are definitely available - this data is directly from Nokia!

Awesome-sauce. Tried NSU a few hours ago with no luck, just tried Over-The-Air update and I got it! Product code: 0552438, generic UK Red.

Updating now, looking forward to seeing the improvements in the browser.

edit: 4MB download with OTA as opposed to the usual 100mb+ with NSU. Man that was much easier. Gonna go play with ma' new firmware. 😊

Im on Telenor in Sweden, still waiting.. Have only checked OTA and via Nokia:s "can you upate" website, not NSU though...

you can also check on 'navifirm'.....

That's where I got the information in my above post from..

Strange though, it's only listing these 4 now...

0576387: 5800 RM-356 FI CV B 25 TRACKS V1_COLOR
0580456: 5800 RM-356 FI CV BK 25 TRACKS V1_COLOR
0576385: 5800 RM-356 FI CV R 25 TRACKS V1
0582194: 5800 RM-356 Wind IT R V2

The Hong Kong ones have disappeared...

Things that make you go HMMMMM.......:con?

No problems at all so far. In fact everything seems a bit faster.

BTW. I have a debranded O2 phone... now Euro 1 Red. Not bothered about warranty if I get the updates months earlier!

I did an OTA update... all data and programs were kept and unaffected.

Anyone else noticing an improvement in battery life? I charged up my phone over night on Thursday, its now Sunday afternoon and I've only lost two bars of battery. (thats with texting, occasional calling and a bit of wi-fi use)

I also really like the punctuation text-entry window now, much better than the old narrow one.
