Have they fixed the full volume only -problem in clock alarm ?
The Nokia 5800 moves ahead - now at v21.0.025
In other news; T-Mobile UK flavour of v20.0.12 is now available in Nokia Software Updater. Installed first time for me, it now has a T-Mobile theme. Data was preserved, except the home screen shortcuts have been hijacked by w'n'w and T-Mo's mobile jukebox.
Over The Air updates are still not possible, as there is no Server defined. 😞
Actually, IMHO, a dial pad with letters would be useful as well if it can be linked to the contacts application in that we are able to search for contacts just by tapping on the relevant keys that correspond with the letters of the contact name.
Got a bit worried when I couldn't enter my code into my key lock.
Vodafone also released v20.0.012 (20.0.012.224.06) recently - I got it last night via PC download for my vodafone UK blue 5800XM.
The main difference seems to be that they've replaced the nokia hands with a vodafone blob animation when you turn the device on.
Not sure if it was broken before, but text entry forms on a website are also not working so well when they're large. I get a return glyph inserted when I add a new line, which I'm sure used to be removed when the new line was inserted. Now it stays there.
If your wondering why the battery life on your 5800XM goes down after installing this update it's because it overclocks the CPU of the 5800XM to 434MHz apparently.
I have tried to do this update OTA. Not happening. Getting an error everytime I try! when using the GPRS connection I get a connection error and if I try via WiFi it says server not available. ARGG. I'll wait until later to try again. I have had a setting issue where when in home network everything with data is okay, but in roaming network I cannot get a data connection at all. Worked with carrier and Nokia. No real solution except to re-load the entire firmware. This didn't happen untl I loaded Nokia messaging. Could this have messed it up? Or is loading the messaging client just a coincidence to something else?

I restarted the phone and closed all erroneous apps running in the background and was able to do the OTA. Updating as I type this.

Do you mean you can copy the text from articles, and paste to word?

Hello, the green dial button on my 5800 does not bring up the list of last dialled numbers any more. Is this a bug (feature) of V21.0.25, or have I done something wrong??
Not just Americans that need them. I often use "Train Tracker" and you need to type in the first few letters of the station name to get journey details. Impossible on the 5800, and still not fixed. Grrrrrrrr
If Europeans were so smart you would of realized that if they advertised 1-800-flowers using the numeric version then there wouldn't be a reason to call their company 1-800-flowers which makes it unique and much easier to remember than just random numbers. mmmm guess the Europeans aren't marketing savey....guess their infant brains really don't understand how business and people work.mmmm
