Cant go to a new line when typing an email

Hello

Im hoping someone has a solution to this.

When I try to type an email message in hotmail or gmail or whatever, I cannot go to a new line, Example

Hello Bob, Hows it going? -Joe

I would like the email to read

Hello Bob,

Hows it going?

-Joe

But when I hit the enter key on the keyboard it will not go to a new line. Has anyone else had this issue? if so how can I fix it?

I'm working from memory here, but if you press the 0 (zero) key three times it will cycle from space to a zero to a little 'return' arrow.
After 1/2 a second or so, the text entry cursor will drop to the next line.

This is assuming you are entering text in alphanumeric mode - not sure about qwerty mode as i don't use it..

Hope this helps.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

However the Qwerty key board does have a return/enter key. But it seems in text boxes like the one you use to enter a post on this forum it doesnt work.

i.e. it doesn't go to a newline. It does work for things like pressing enter after you've typed what your searching for in google.

There must be a way to fix this as I can't really type anything other then short msn messages. :T

No one has encountered this issue?

I'm the only one who has tried to use webmail to email a message only to find the enter key will not go to a new line?

I tried what you suggested all it does is put an enter key symbol the little return arrow in the text field, it does not actually go to a newline.

I had the same problem but when I upgraded my firmware it seems to work now.

I've got the latest t-mobile f/w, 20.something....

It may be that the text box you are trying to type into does not support multiple lines - try it when typing a text message to see what I mean....
