Is it true that doom1.wad is 12 megabyte big? In that case I think I need more memory if I should store it on my P800 😞

In the full version of Doom, the entire game(with the sis file and both the wad files) is about 14,5MB in size. The shareware version is about 5,5MB in size.

The difference between the two is that the shareware version only allows you to play one episode, whilst in the full version you can choose between four different episodes.

I believe that it is not allowed to share the wad files in this forum, so you have to search Google or something for the files.

To play Edoom on your P800 you need to get your hands on doom1.wad and doom3.wad from the full ver. (ver. 1.9) of the first Doom.

I manage to get my hands on the files, and it works fine...

Nope, not from the full version from the shareware version...you'll save a bundle of space

Edoom is only the shareware version you can't go onto the next episodes....which is a shame as I completed it in 2 days.

For the full version you can just keep the doom3.wad file, and get the other wad file from the original game, this wad file must be named doom.wad NOT doom1.wad. This is very important! If you name it doom1.wad it will still be recognized as the shareware version. With the full version you'll have FOUR different episodes to play.[/b]

N/P, just found this out a little while ago myself. At first I was really disappointed as it seemed the full version was just exactly alike the shareware version, but then I discovered the renaming from doom1.wad to doom.wad would do the trick...

Really love this game, can't get enough of it! 😃
Especially once I found what I think to be the ultimate button config.

In the option settings you can configure one button to have multible functions.
My config:
Auto run and auto aim enabled.
-Jogdial (on the bottom of the screen), pull it towards me to go back, pull it away from me to go forward, scroll it left/right to go left/right, press it in to look up and to jump.
-Browserbutton to look down.
-Camera button to fire and use(open doors etc.).
I use the stylus only to change weapons and save a game...

What I still don't understand though, is how can we add even more episodes??? When I transfer a new episode(.wad file) it doesn't appear in the Doom menu... Perhaps we need to rename it, but to what??
If anyone knows, please help! :bday:
