Emails using the Messaging applicaton on 5800 with WiFi

I am trying to set up the messaging application on 5800 to access my gmail account using WiFi. I was able to get the phone to ask me whether to use my aT&T data connection or the WiFi connection for all internet access, but the mail application still uses my at&t data connection without asking. Is there a way to get the messaging application to select the access method?
Thanks for any help ..

Try with the following:

Menu -> Messaging -> Gmail (or whatever name it has for you) -> Options -> E-mail settings -> Connection settings -> Incoming e-mail -> Access point in use

There you should be able to choose a WiFi access point. If it works repeat it for outgoing email.

Thanks ! It worked. It did use the at&t data connection to set up the mail box. But once it was setup, I could change the access point settings as you described. Thanks a lot !
