anyone having this issue where the :con? before the screen returns to normal?
It is intermittent but has become increasingly more and more prevalent. I can't take a screenshot of it because when I do that, the actual pic it takes is of the normal screen underneath!

The only time I have seen that is when I tried to see if ereader beta for S60 3rd Edition would work on my 5800. It would do that when I exited the app and I would have to press the menu button to get back. Since deleting that app, I have never seen it.
Is it possible you have some incompatible app on there?
yes EXACTLY that!!
what the hell is causing it?
It's a defective screen I'm afraid.
You'll have to send it back to the manufacturer for repair.
I just hope they are quicker than they have been with mine - they've had it nearly 6 weeks and I still don't know when I'll get it back...😡

more than 10 pages about the same problem!!
even i experience it in my 58.
apparently, nokia will replace the lcd, its covered under warranty! 😃
goddamn! and thanks, I will check out the link. Am quite annoyed. But what can you do... I'm just waiting for the Omnia HD now...
omnia hd, n97, idou these are all waaaay too expensive compared to 5800... and they have only few extra features compared to 58...
anyway i went to nokia care and gave my phone. they say it'll take a week, as they don't have stock of the component that has to be replaced. apparently this is a often-occuring problem for many 5800 owners.. sucks.. oh well atleast they promise to fix it for free, under warranty.

I had something similar earlier today, after installing a 2007 version of Live Messenger, and it occurred several times whilst trying to sign-in to the service. I ununstalled WLM and now it's fine.
Maybe some app you installed is causing the issue?
