Customizing home screen on E71x

Im new to the new nokias, in the past i used to be a nokia freak but switched to blackberry ever since. So my question is, can i customize the home screen where the icons are on top in a horizontal row, and rid of the calendar below it? I see alot of screen shots of the E71x and the home screen is way different than mine.

Yes can customize the shortcuts along the top row. Menu>Settings>Config>General>Personalization>Idle Screen Mode>Shortcuts Yea that took me a little bit of menu searching when I did it 😊 . You can also change the layout of the main screen and menus by going to ....Personalization>Themes> then Menu View or Idle Screen. I hope this helps.

along these lines.....i kinda dig the analog clock on the home/idle screen but can't seem to find out how to display that on my e71x. is that option only available on e71 or is it a difference in OS versions?
