Freeing up phone memory

So what can I delete from phone memory to clear some memory? I've got 1mb free space on it. Bah.

The apps listed in Installed Applications... only add up to 2mb.

Is there a way to get cache of internet files to save to my memory card? or is that waht is already happening? Hmm.

Just done this myself. Freed up 40MB!!!! The amount of detritus on C: is frightening, though admittedly I've taken this 5800 installation through 4 firmware updates OTA!

1. Go into File Mgr.
2. Do a backup (to card)
3. Go to the dial pad and do *#7370# to vape the whole C disk
4. Check free space on C: (about 85MB?)
5. Go to File Mgr.
6. Do Backup | Options | Restore and check all boxes.
7. Restart phone

Eh voila. You should now have 60MB or more free, with all your apps intact. All that's been 'lost' are some preferences and application folder assignments. So you'll need to fiddle with these for a few minutes, as needed.

Job done! 8-)

Hey, so what's hte default lock code for the phone? I've tried 12345... and yeah, that didnt' work out. thank you for your method! 😊

12345 worked fine for me. You must have changed it - unless it's a network-branded version? In which case THEY might have changed it - so phone them up etc.

damn, I think you're onto something. yeah, its a branded phone since it came out of the box. Alright, i'll have to see waht google gives me or resort to calling 'em up. thank you!
