How to unlock the screen without slider key?

Hi all,
I am really enjoing using the Nokia 5800 for running/cycling, both for music and maps (and sports tracker!)

To carry the device when doing sports, I have an armband sleeve with a transparent window, which would allow me to see the display. However, it is useless, as after a short time out the display locks and the only way to unlock it is to use the side slider, which is unaccessible because the device is in the sleeve.

Now, it would be great if there was a way to prevent display locking [edit: solved, see below] or to re-map a key of the remote control (e.g. the "call" key) or the white menu key to unlock the device. Is there a way to do this?

Otherwise, I will need to find another way to carry it. How do you carry the device when doing sports?

Cheers,
arg0

Well, I found a solution. Disabling auto-lock is indeed possible, but the setting is hidden (i.e., not where I would have expected), and therefore I overlooked it. Who decided to put it in: settings😛hone😛hone mgmt? Why "phone" management? I would have expected this in "display" or "touch input"...
Anyway, my problem is solved. 😊
I would still be interested whether it's possible to remap a key on the music remote to unlock the screen, though.

I had seen a software that for 5800 that keeps the phone unlocked as long as an application is running. Cant remember what its called, but have a look around.

It's called Smart Light by PhonePhreak software.
I use it and it's a godsend.

Google it....😊

Actually Smart Light seems to keep the phone unlocked and the backlight on, which is a little to battery-intensive. I don't mind tapping the screen when I want the light back on.
I tried to keep the screen unlocked while running, with the phone in the arm pocket, and it worked fine. I could use it through the transparent window to start-stop-lap sports tracker and had no unwanted screen activations.
