YouTube Mobile, the native S60 client for the video sharing service, has been updated and is now (almost) fully compatible with touchscreen phones running S60 5th Edition, such as the Nokia 5800. All main functions work perfectly, with touch-screen control and support for text entry fields and a virtual keyboard. See below for screens, comments and links.

I always have this problem where after watching a movie and coming back out of fullscreen I lose the controls to exit the app, so I have to red button it. Also, when I had the latest version installed, there was a major bug where locking the phone with a security code would get messed up when I try to unlock it, the screen would not unlock so I uninstalled it and now my 5800's back to normal :con?

Lol at the overlaying player controls when the toolbar are is empty and even the left softkey area is empty. Good 'ol google, always coding around the standards, no matter the platform.

Still jittery, still hard to control. The interesting part that they probably meant to release it for the 5800 since it has those huge player buttons, I wonder if they gave up.

What's the frame rate like on the 5800? It's pretty bad on my gf's n95 8gb. Action sequences are almost unwatchable.
