Nokia has announced that the much anticipated N97 is going to be available to pre-order online later today priced at £499 (inc VAT, SIM free) from the Nokia Online Shop, though no shipping date has been set yet. As we know, the Nokia N97 will also be the first device to feature (in its firmware) the Ovi Store, which is set to go live in the next week. The N97 will be available in black and white variants.

i've read variuos sources reporting that its now on pre-order on nokia shop uk, but i've looked and its not even in shop yet on pre-order
i think nokia released details a little too soon
It does say 'later today' in the news release..... i.e. not 'now'. Bizarre way to announce things though, Nokia. Next time, wait another 12 hours and then say 'hey, it's here NOW' etc. 8-)
I have just read on a blog that Nokia will be selling Nokia N97 starting on June 2nd in north america . The price satys a little lower , $699. so may be we UK and Noth america are on the same ship😊

its here guys
just burnt a hole in my credit card YAY
I've seen lots of news posts, etc, about the N97 NAM version pre-order. I don't know if I have missed something but why is it that the NAM version is cheaper than 500 and they get a bt headset too, for free!! =/
Is there a possibility of them throwing in freebies for the UK? Or maybe a discount code? Also, why is there no stylus listed in the accessories? Its listed on the NAM pre-order page but not for the UK........
Stella.
I'm disappointed UK get no free extras
US get a free BT ear piece and also stylus included
France get a load of free stuff which is 2 n-gage games(spore & brain challenge) , 25 free songs and 12 month navigation license, for 1euro extra number of tracks rises to 100
Well, NAM actually isn't cheaper.
Minus 15% VAT and the price is 425. Which is actually quite a bit cheaper than the US 😊
And then some states have a sales tax which isn't included in the 500, although for online shopping pretty much only the state where Nokia are based will need to pay.
Although no free gifts!
i was never questioning the price just whats included in the box, any way going by online Nokia shop in US you are definitely getting more for you money with the free gifts added than any other region
Just check the link below and you will probably stop complaining about prices in the UK...

That's how much residents of Finland have to pay: EUR 729,00!
While in the UK: EUR 560,00! Aren't we all in the EU?
Unbelievable... and that is Nokia's home country, probably the most expensive place to get a Nokia! hehe
I am a foreigner residing in Finland for some years now. The funny thing is that none of the 5 nokia phones I had during my time here were purchased in its home land. That's t beauty of t internet shops and global commerce...

have you not read the comments correctly its not about the money its about what's in the box
I'd be more than happy to pay a extra 30 Euro to make price same as in spain
in Spain they get 125 euro music voucher for that extra 30 Euro
I've emailed Nokia about the stylus......I think it should be included with the phone, but I don't know, I just want to find out for sure.
A cloth phone case would be nice too, or maybe something like the one that comes with the 5800..... =D I doubt we'll get one thrown in though.
I emailed Nokia yesterday asking if the UK N97 comes with a stylus and this was the response:-
