Simple, battery friendly IM aggregator

Can anyone recommend a simple IM aggregator that doesn't drain the battery too fast?

I did a bit of searching and came up with Fring, Nimbuzz, ebuddy, slick and Trutap.

Can anyone recommend one over the other?

I'm mainly interested in replacing MSN messenger since it's crap and after being on for a while contacts that were online and logged off still show as online, and it disconnets/reconnects sometimes.

Not bothered about any other functions such as voip, mail etc., just IM

Trying out a few, don't like trutap & it seems sluggish, fring is not bad but the interface isn't great, ebuddy is great but can't get the notification sound to work, and when I get a message and I'm looking at the home screen there's no flashing icon like with msn messenger.
