A thought :icon4: came to me this morning as I made my ticket reservation for Terminator Salvation.
In many venues you can get in *BIG* trouble taking a VIDEO CAMERA into a movie, live concert/performance or sports event.
Since the N97 has a HD-quality digital video camera in it, might it get confiscated at the door or make you get turned away? :con?
Does this mean I need a back-up phone for situations like this?
Or just make sure that your date/wife/other has their phone with them?
Nokia....if you're listening, for the NEXT GENERATION, how about a two-piece modular phone so you could leave the parts behind 🙄 ? It could also make for modular upgrades while retaining upward migration path compatibility.

The N97 has the same video camera capabilities as the Nokia N96, and the Nokia N95.
640x480.
It's not HD quality, it's DVD quality (they say, but really DVD resolution is 720480 (NTSC) or 720576 (PAL)).
Umm every previous nokia has the same camera recording as the n97 such as the n82, n95, n96, etc. So yeah i don't get what the big deal suddenly would be with the n97's camera. Its been around for years.
Thats dumb.. I cant believe they would body search you when you are going into the movies or anything. They will know if you are recording by the amount of light it produces - so make sure you enjoy the movie with it turned on silent mode and dont answer calls..
The only difference the N97 video camera has iirc is that it records in a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of 4:3. I'd imagine it would still have the hour-long-recording limitation the other phones had.
