Nokia N85 oled screen dead, warranty problem

Hello everyone,

This is my first post but I have been using symbian phones for a while now.

3 months ago I purchased at Amazon an N85, excluding some build quality problems, I was very happy with this phone, but then I had some problems.

1. 4 days ago my phone screen showed a little discoloration at the bottom of the screen, I was worried but I could live with it.
2. Some hours later that little discoloration was occupying almost half of the screen.
3. At the next day when I woke up and saw my phone the screen was totally blue, I could see the UI but everything was blue colored. I was freaking out...
5. The phone's screen was getting darker and darker until it went totally black.
4. I contacted Nokia about my problem and they told me that my phone could only be repaired in the US, and that it didnt have any International Warranty (I live in Uruguay, small country between Argentina and Brazil)
5. Amazon's Nokia N85 says it has a "full manufacturer warrany", I bought this $420 phone and I cant get any support? It is almost impossible for me to ship this phone to the US and then get it back. What can I do?

I am no LCD or OLED expert but I think my screen life was shorten somehow. What else then?

Thanks everyone

I assume you bought the phone from the Amazon store for your country, in which case I'd try Amazon? But by the sounds of it, you bought it from Amazon US, which means you have no warranty, as the warranty is only valid in the country the device is being sold in.

Yes I bought it from Amazon US. Oops 😞😞.

Thank you for your answer!

BTW, is this common in phone's displays?
