battery life?

Hi my I8910 on orange is turning on the Packet data after a make a call and i have to go to adminstrator settings to turn it to when needed even though that is what is selected i am sure this why my battery lasts less than my 8gb n95 i had.

After a little use and some calls after 10 hours since a charge i am left with 2 bars on the battery and this phone needs charging every night.
I am in a strong signal area and have it set on GSM so to roam for 3g as well, and its still no better.

Just wondering whats the average battery life your all getting?
Thanks.

You also need to turn off video-sharing: Settings -> Connectivity -> Video Sharing.

At least so I'm told. Hope to have the I8910 tomorrow or by the end of the week.

Hi - I have gone through 5 full discharges with the i8910's 1500 mAh battery (I left the radio on until the handset refused to turn back on). I have also done 5 full recharges. The length of time I appear to be able to use the handset for has increased a lot. I have noticed it. Yesterday I used the handset a lot - 2h of calls, 15 texts, about an hour surfing over WiFi, took about 10 photos, with flash, and a few videos. From a full set of battery bars, I noted about 10pm that it had 3 bars left. I have not yet charged it up today - another 8h, and made a further 1 hour of calls, plus messing around in the menus for about 30 mins. I have one bar left.
I am finding the battery acceptable.
I have done the packet data / switching off video sharing tweaks as reported here! I did these on Day 1 of owning it, so no idea if these are the critical tweaks needed!
I'll still be buying any extended battery that appears though! 3000 mAh has always been my ideal size/longevity compromise.

One more thing - even with one bar left on the display, the handset seems to have plenty of power left in it! If anyone knows of any percentage gauge for this version of Symbian on the i8910 (I am new to this OS) I would be grateful. I guess that one bar still means I have, in reality, 15-20% charge remaining... certainly more than 10%. Cheers!
