Hi & thanks for the info. Route 66 on my Orange-branded i8910 is 'ok' but it asks me to pay for turn-by-turn. If I am going to have to subscribe for this, then I would prefer to buy a standalone GPS package.
Do you know if there is a trial of Garmin XT I can try?
I have read on other forums that it is best to aim for Mobile 10 laptop version, as you can transfer the app/maps to any microSD card, otherwise you can only use the supplied microSD card i.e. lose the ability to use it on a e.g. bought 32 Gb card.
