Google today announced the release of Google Mobile App for S60 (3rd Edition), which allows quick access to Google search and shortcuts to a number of other Google services. Features include a homescreen shortcut, built in location support for searches and shortcuts to other Google application and services. The application is, effectively, an update to (version 2.0) and an extension of the Google S60 Search application announced last year. Incidentally Google's S60 You Tube application has been updated to version 2.0.17. Read on for more details.

The google youtube app sucks arse on video quality on my just sold to a coworker N95 8GB.
Great ui but can't read subs and lowers vid quality.
It is very easy to test my conclusion. Just open an English subbed foreign video (there are a lot of Korean ones).
You will find that you cannot read the subs!
The video quality is so bad that I was embarassed to show other people SNL vids from youtube app but had to because it loads so fast.
If I had a choice I would always go with skyfire browser to hulu.com or to youtbe. Much better quality and still ok on speed.
The Google app conflicts with Microsoft exchange by taking over the "c" button. Once installed, for example on my N85, I could no longer use the "c" to delete an email in Exchange. I uninstalled Google, and then it was back to normal and the "c" could delete.
I also noted the different use of "c" on my N96 (also a FP2-device).
Oddly enough there is no problem after a reboot. Google search does not load into memory, but is still active. The use of "c" is no problem then.
After you started Google Search/Apps -by using "c"- the "c" is dominated by google untill you close the apps (not by clicking on the right menu-key, but by choosing exit). Then you can use "c" again, but it will not start google apps again.
For me Google Apps did not have an option to use Gmail.
So I deinstalled and tried to reinstall, because I thought that Google Apps/Search would "link" then, but no go.
The Gmail still says "can not install" after full deinstallation and after deinstalling Google Apps/Search.
Hoping for an answer of Google soon or a new version of Gmail (and Apps (for the N96 starting Apps with red/"hang up" would have been a better choice (like Handy Shell).
