for anyone worried about how tought the 7650 is I have an amazing story.
I dropped my phone into water by accident - please do not say anything, I know I have ten thumbs - it shorted out and would not power up. I actually had to tip water out of it. 3 hours later, it had dried out, and hey presto it powered up. Done a complete check on it, I can't find anything wrong with it - everything works fine, and I did check everything I can think of. It has a minor scratch on the plastic case now that did wind me up - now however I see it as a beloved battle scar!
Has anyone else had any impressions of how tough they think the phone is?

Most phones nowadays are good swimmers? My 8210 was a scuba diver that fell into a 3 meter pool....and I called it and it was ringing 😃
my older 8890 survived a 6k rpm clutch dump race launch without any problems.Too bad I won't be trying that on the 7650.
mines got a few battle scars as well, mainly on the edges obviously!!, one annoying thing with lots if usage is the sliding part/keypad bit is quite rattly now after lots of up/down usage ( ooo errr missus ) !
Hurray for the 7650, not mine but a friend of mine got his 7650 submerged in a Cocktail (with alcohol, lemons and stuff) when he was too drunk. Just turned itself off and voila nothing seemed to bother it nor did it get tipsy after that alcohol rush.
I've dropped the 3210 and an old Panasonic in water before. Both still working.. but I just don't use them 😊
My old 5210 survived many a weekend rolling around in the dirt and water when I go away with the Air Training Corps. In fact, once i had to do a river crossing and totally forgot the poor little begger was still in my pocket. I only remebered when someone rang me and it went off.
Opps 😊

the 7650 seems tough to me for a high end phone - as in my experience the high end ones aren't always the most durable. My mate runs a lorry yard, and did have an 8850 and 3310. When he dropped the 8850 on his carpet at home it shattered the screen, broke the case and wouldn't power up - with the 3310 he drops it all the time in the yard and it splits into the covers, battery and phone, but when re-assembled its fine,
I have read that the 7650 is a solid phone, and it certainly feels more beefy than the 8850 etc, although i'll try not to test it

3210 is really buld in quality!!! 😃 very durable 😊
my phones story:
Many years ago I have Nokia 1630 I was running down the park hall ramp an the phone fell of my belt.. it crashed a floor then bouncing wall and go that circle again and again till the ramp was finish..
I'm like shit my phone's dead but no!?
just gather the peaces of the phone but them together and it work's fine 😃
Another one:
some years ago I have 8850.. But it standing on top of the 1.5 meter long shelf I was to hurry butting it in the shelf so it got little badly placed.. so it fell of!?
First bouncing couple large books then bottom shelf what little wider than other once, and last it hit on the floor.. 😞
My poor aluminium baby..
The cover's all scratch and dent..
And amazing thing is that power was on after bouncing practice :-?
But main thing is that after that hit it's still working fine when I change it to 7650 😉
I was at a Symbian Chrissy do and my 8210 ended up in a pint of beer (Stella) while still on.
I think the big problem was that I turned it off and back on again while still wet 😞 and one of the capaitors burnt throught the inner plastic sheilding and melted a hole in the screen.
Once it was dryed out it worked fine once more. Later in its life I replaced the screen and it still works perfectly (even with the burnt out capacitor on board)!
However most electronics are pretty robust after being submerged as long as no power is on (or low power). At a drunken party I happened to take a cordless phone with me into a toilet (don't ask) and dropped it into a (clean!) toilet. Oops. Luckily after it dried out it worked as well as before. 😉
I know this is the wrong place but a flatmate put his spv through a 40 degree cycle in the washing mashine, and only figured where it was after it went through the tumble drier as well, result - dust under case and # key not working, that all!
I dropped my 3210 hardly at all, and managed to break one of the bottom corners off the case, and split the battery just for starters. Then it started not charging properly. Build quality was crap!
Hopefully the 7650 is better, I'm trying not to test it 😃
