N97 (US version) issue with Nokia Music

While waiting (x^6) for my N97 (NAM) I was browsing the OVI website and made a discovery that may limit the demand for the N97 is the USA...

1. Nokia Music is not available in the U.S.
2. The N97 is not among the "supported devices" on the website.

Is this a timing issue about updating the website(s)?

Does this mean that USA users will be limited to only unlicensed content?

Ideally I would prefer that there be an iTunes port that would allow me to sync with my N97. Searching the net for Symbian 60 and iTunes, it appears that there were a few aborted attempts to try and support S60 rel 3 but that nothing much has come of it.

After all...if they want to have a market for the BH-905 super-duper noise-cancelling stereo bluetooth/wired headphones come September, they need to have licensed content available!

The N97 won't be on the list of supported devices because it hasn't been officially launched yet.

As for Nokia Music, I'm afraid I don't know.

dont expect comes with music or nokia music to work in the USA. previous phones that worked in other countries with nokia music were also launched in USA and did NOT have nokia music. they just havent launched it here yet and probably never will.

The Salling Media program will synch with iTunes *BUT* it will not copy anything that has DRM (Digital Rights Management) enabled.

That is--DRM-enabled media content bought from iTunes will not sync.

Oh well...maybe it's time to go back to CDs for all music.
