US (NAM) delivery

Saw on another msg board last night that someone spoke withe NokiaUSA and was told that the BLACK N97 was going to start shipping today (9-June).

Anyone else have any more information on US deliveries?

Many black pre-order people are upset that the flagship stores received stock before their pre-orders were delivered. The NokiaUSA site specifically said that pre-orders would be received "the same day" as the stores received their stock.

Meanwhile bad news for those of us who ordered the "white" version. A respondent on Symbian Guru's blog had a discussion with the Nokia online support folks. They were told that the US white version would NOT SHIP UNTIL JULY.

No wonder Nokia doesn't do well in the US market. Don't they understand that the typical US consumer wants instant gratification? or at least to not be misled with endlessly slipping delivery dates?

It would be nice to have some sort of consolation for having to wait so long....discount coupons, an instant rebate, free 16 GB microSD memory card, something!

Just recieved tracking number for the "white" version of the N97 (NAM) from nokiausa.com. It shipped today (june 11th) and should arrive tomorrow via fedex overnight.

Was on HOLD for 45 minutes this morning with NokiaUSA Customer Service.

They are WAY behind on 'fulfilling" orders based on what she told me.

Evidently, if you call to complain they will move you up in the queue.

She said that my white N97 has now been released for shipment but that the website won't show the update for 6-8 hours.

We'll see. [**UPDATE**: 11:04 AM CST I received a SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION. Now let's see if OVERNIGHT SHIPMENT means OVERNIGHT.]

Meanwhile, a college student 90 miles north of me received his white N97yesterday and is trying to sell it on Craigslist for for 15% more than he paid for it.

I must be a closet American. That's how I feel, and Im from the UK. Where's my butterfingers?

Following up on the shipment (and RECEIPT!!) of my N97 NAM WHITE...

"Overnight" does not mean next day.

According to the FedEx site, "Standard Overnight" is by 3 pm next BUSINESS DAY. Mine was shipped on a Friday morning and I received it about 1 pm the following Monday.

My heart goes out to all you UK-ers (Brits, Scots, Welsh and Irish) who are still having to wait.

The stylus is so..... tiny it is easily misplaced, dropped, etc. You will need a stylus to handle some of the controls. Fingertips are just too big to reliably hit some of the target touch zones on some screens. Plan on flipping open the keyboard to get to the D-button to do navigation. (I miss my TAB key on my Nokia 9300!).

That's worth knowing, thanks rdcinhou! I know that Nokia UK don't do Saturday deliveries anyway (and that you're in the states with FedEx, which I doubt Nokia'll use in the UK... probably ParcelFarce instead), but it's worth knowing for us who pre-order that, if we receive a shipping confirmation on Friday, we could quite easily have the phone in our hands once the weekend is over.

I can't remember exactly, but when i phoned Nokia 2 days ago, they said it was either UPS or DPD (i only remember that it was a 3 initial delivery service, and i can only think of these 2)
