i8910 Micro USB to standard (full) USB 2.0 cable transfer rates:

Test equipment:
Samsung i8910 HD to a laptop (4 years old, single core Intel 1.7 Ghz, 1gb/60gb 7,200rpm) running XP (SP3+all updates); copy/paste from Windows Explorer:
Desktop (c😊 to i8910 (Mass memory; 8Gb); i8910 handset in 'Mass memory' connection mode via it's pop-up onscreen menu that appears as you connect the handset...

Test files:
film.mp4 @ 350,213 kb i.e. ~ 350 mb
film.mp4 @ 460,276 kb i.e. ~ 460 mb

Both encoded using IMTOO DVD to PSP encoder @ 368x208 pixel size, ~512 kbps when streamed. This file plays back very well using the i8910's video player on the handset itself (yes, the screen is fabulous; if you have the space, 480x272 @ 768 kbps and 64 kbps joint stereo is a better compormise, but that is for another topic...!).

Results: Each is time is for one transfer, each way, as in practicality I am not going to transfer a file 3 times and take an average! But of course, there will be various bufferings going on, and I am not an expert in these types of test, but hopefully most users will see roughly similar values (?) and be able to make up their own minds as to what they might expect to see!

Laptop to i8910 � 350 mb in 74 secs
i8910 to laptop � 65 secs

I try the second similar test file, apart from the fact it is 460 mb in size -
i8910 to laptop � 460 mb in 95 secs
laptop to i8910 � 84 secs

Finally, a smaller testfile ~ 10.2 mb = ~ 2-3 secs (a typical, onboard recorded 1280x740 .mp4-amr (hoho), reported to be 8 secs in length)

Conclusion: [~5 megabytes per second or better]
Roughly speaking, by connecting the Samsung i8910 HD to an ageing laptop, I am seeing about 5 megabytes / second or better. I am satisfied with this as a consumer. I doubt anyone will get any worse rate than this.

PS Of course, I can buy and use an external card reader, via an additional microSD card (upto 32 Gb apparently may work); but the above is for the Mass memory (8Gb) and thus the cable supplied is the only sensible way to access this internal memory store IMHO. mmm... perhaps my 802.11g is faster, but I doubt it (not tested)! LOL
