Please, please, please! I really hope someone can help me, I recently opened the Quickoffice application and went to updates and upgrades, I then downloaded Quicksudoku to my phone, this then filled my Media Album (Images & videos) with files called Quicksudoku_set020 (I think there are over 300 of them!), the files all have an image of a broken picture which looks like it is a standard thumbnail for the phone. I have tried to delete these files without success, I have tried to move these files without success, everytime I try something a little key appears in the bottom corner of the thumbnail. Does anybody know how I can delete these files? I have tried opening them in Quickoffice, but cannot find which folder they are in. Am I just being really daft and there is a simple solution? I really hope so! Thanks in advance for any help.
Files in Media Album won't delete
Good luck. I know your problem well. Mine came about by inserting a microSD card I used in my previous WM6.1 mobile and all the program-related multimedia files also flooded my media gallery. My solution was just to back them up, delete them from the card, and then refresh the library. I am a new Symbian user - I am sure an expert from these forums or others can help us, as I, too, haven't been able to partition out folders/files within the Media Gallery. Sorry I can't be of more help right now.
You can set a file attribute to ' hidden' on those files, either by using your computer, connecting your device in mass-storage-mode, or on your device itself, using Y-browser.
Isn't it possible to make Folders in Media Album as I suggested in this thread : http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/84412/ ? That would be a shame , making Media Album almost useless , when there are lots of files ....
Folders housing all related files make more sense . In a overload of files , one needs some hierarchy ...
With Y-Browser you can HIDE files , but also folders Hidden . Another third party Application X-Plore can do the same , but has easier settings .
Another way to hide files from Media Album : ZIP the files !
Zip-files can only be viewed in : File Manager , X-Plore and ZipManager . Not anymore in Apps , like Media Album .
