Hi all,
is anyone having problems with accelerometers of the 5800? From time to time the screen (application menu, web, all other applications) stops auto-rotating when I rotate the phone. The only way to have it back to working is the old good method: turn off and turn on.
Sounds like a software bug, anyone experiencing the same? Any ideas, apart from waiting for the next firmware upgrade?
Thanks in advance

I've never had to turn the phone on and off, but sometimes it seems to get a little stuck (seems to happen more often going from landscape to portrait than the other way, but I'm not sure). I find the even older good method --in the orientation I want, slap the device upside the head-- usually works. Only a minor annoyance here, but, yes, wouldn't mind a firmware fix. 🙄
have not encountered this problem once with my 5800. maybe its a certain firmware problem? i'm on v20 NAM version.
I'm v20 NAM as well. As I said, it is more of a hiccup-- slow to respond to reoritation. Not a huge problem, and only occasional.
Hallo 5800 users,
I had this also with firmware 20.0.012 and it is much better under 21.0.025 - Rotates quickly in all functions.
I have the nam version and am having intermittent issues with the accelerometer.
If I'm holding the phone vertically and push the contacts button..they show up horizontally. This is happening often, and when I rotate the phone to horizontal position the contacts become vertical. If I go back to the vertical phone position they stay vertical.
I'm wondering if I have a faulty unit? It's only a couple of weeks old. Does anyone think mine is defective?
I have never had to turn the phone off to get screen rotation to work. I'm just getting the wrong rotation once and awhile.
