The Sims 3 hits Ovi Gaming

One of the seemingly vast number of Java game titles that have bee put up by Nokia in their Ovi Store, The Sims 3 doesn't seem too bad - it's playable and well thought out, once you look past the lowest-common-denominator interface. Here's Ewan's Sims 3 review, right here on Ovi Gaming (used to be All About N-Gage).

Read on in the full article.

This is the 2d 'sprints' version while iphone got the full 3d polygon one.

So what? The iPhone costs 500 euros - 600 euros in total, most people won't spend that much on a phone. Ovi Store is available on devices that cost as little as 50 euros, and Nokia's cheapest S60 smartphone is about 120 euros in total.

Now I'm just off for a refreshing glass of Sprint... 😊

good review =D and for sure Ovi Store needs to put some warning for 5800 about on screen controls =[
but about S60 code.... i really doubt that EA will do something better for S60... what i think will happen for N-Gage version?! java port =[ ah! with support for A and B buttons!

So many games so little time...

I guess your are having trouble keeping up with all these games.
Here is a suggestion maybe you can try this out.

Add a rating system. So you can rate the games in the Ovi games.
So we can get a a ruff idea about the game.

Nice review btw. I am with you in the 3d vs 2d debate on phones.
The only reason 3d was a grate hit on the pc was because they had much better control and they have waaay better graphic performance.
Plus it is much harder to keep the poly count in the range you want when making a game so they are mostly slow.

We are getting a bit behind with all these games, 270 titles are rather a lot for any review site and by the time we've covered them there will probably be hundreds more to do. 😊

Regarding ratings, there's already a rating system on Ovi Store itself (you can score any game out of 3) but it isn't really any use as the scores seem to be totally random. Either people are just clicking at random, or there are people manipulating the system.

The comments on Ovi Store are a bit depressing too, it's full of people promoting pirate sites and telling people not to buy games because the pirated versions are free.

There's exactly the same problem on N-Gage's ratings, they're virtually all 3 or 4 out of 5 and when you read the comments they're not really anything to do with the game itself.
