Nokia's next-gen Photo Browser utility has just received a big update, adding faster operation, easier access to the menu, folder sorting, send functionality and image rotation. This release is for all S60 devices, but future updates will be focussed on S60 5th Edition and touch-screen phones. Via Nokia Beta Labs.

Its much much better now. Loving it.!
This is actually pretty damn good, I'm liking it a lot. I think its even faster than Resco viewer.
Not for all s60... don't see the N93 listed.
Still no support for e90.... 😞
I'm also disappointed that there's no support for the E90. When will Nokia get their act together, and stop releasing software that only works on SOME S60 devices. I know the E90's internal screen might be an issue, but you would expect ANY S60 app to work on the outside screen...
Painfully slow on my E71 with extensive photo album.
Wow, this thing is quick, even on my N95-1 - reminds me so much of Cooliris and the auto-rotation/scrolling is snappy. Just wish it could simply replace Gallery now.
I'm very impressed that I actually uninstalled Resco Photo Viewer from my phone. I've always hated the UI of Resco viewer and only used it coz i needed fast access to the photos. This is even faster and looks better. Zooming is very smooth. And the thing rotates even when auto rotation of the phone is off. And rotation is so fast and smooth. After all the clunkyness of various apps/UI of s60, this for me is a revelation. Only thg it needs now is the ability to do some editing.
Wow, Nokia should be embarrassed to show that show/choppy demo on the software's website. I know it's beta but it's clear they are trying to pull fancy graphics when they clearly dont have the processing power under the hood. Look how horrible the pictures glide when he swipes through, it's as if it's running at 5 frames per second.
Once again, in Nokia-Land, "All S60 Devices" really seems to mean "at least FP1 or higher required"

What do you mean "even on the N95-1". Thats probably the second fastest overall N series device (after the N95 8gig), 330mHz processor and a graphics accelerator (which is rarely used?).
Regardless, its a very, very slick application, and the sooner they allow it to replace the invariably useless gallery application, the better. Gallery was useless on the N73, its never improved.
Please Nokia, let me replace the standard gallery. Purlease. Pretty purlease?
Hmm. Not sure about this one. On restarting the phone an unknown app "Installer" started running, which presumably was this app re-checking my gallery to generate more thumbs. Took 24 hours to generate all the necessary thumbnails!!!
Now I have ~1100 photos but it looks like this went and catalogued all the thumbnails from deleted pictures, presumably still stored on the memory card somewhere? Means that when clicked on, the photos cannot expand. Bit of a bug there - either in this app or in ImageExchange. A simple "ignore all pics < 100k" filter would probably sort this problem out.
Personally think Image Exchange has a nicer scroll action - although do like the way that all the photos rotate when the phone does in this app - quite a sweet touch.
does not run well on my n85.
it nstalled good.... but now is not showing any thumbnails or pics at all!!!!
now a real newbie Q.... does this allow the use of folders, or is it something I have set wrong, that makes my 5800 ignore all of them??? even the Phone memory ones are merged with the card memory ones... 😞
I copied all of them fom my 6680 (all neatly arranged in folders - wedding, parties, band pics, exhibition pics....) using the 5800 'switch' app, but....
resco photo viewer is more faster than this....but i like the nokia photo browser works...nice UI. btw, it takes ages to add new images in it.
