My N97 NAM lock switch exhibits an undesirable behavior:
Sometimes it will unlock the screen, but the screen is activated on its lowest brightness setting (you can dimly see the widgets). It sometimes takes two or three tries to get it to activate at full brightness.
Does anyone else's N97 behave this way?
Mine has been fine.. so far. Could it be the ambient light sensor is thinking it's brighter than it actually is when you unlock the screen?

this is a bug, not sure if its just the NAM version tho, alot of the members on howard forums have the same prob.
I sometimes have to click the unlock slider 4-5 times to get the backlight on. Seems it works if you lock it in the first 5-10 minutes, if after that it won't always light the back light.
I started a petition for Nokia to give us a credit or partial refund for these simple type bugs that should have been noticed in the lab.

If we make enough noise, Nokia (like apple on their 2.5 iPhone release) should do something. Right now I'm embarrassed to show off my Nokia to my iPhone friends.
I have a NAM version and have same issues.
Still no problems unlocking with my UK SIM free N97 after a day of use - backlight comes on every time. With luck they will get a NAM firmware fix out ASAP.
