N-Gage application on N97

Hmmm .. am I just missing something? I can find the N-Gage app on my new N97, and when I try to install the sis grabbed from n-gage.mobi/d it says it is not compatible with the N97 and wont install.

Anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Its not out yet, im sure it wont be long tho

Ha Ha .. well that would explain why I can't find it then! Typical that just when there are finally a few N-Gage games that I'm actually interested in and I get a phone that wont support it. Look forward to it coming online 😊

Yesterday when I followed the N-Gage link via the Ovi bookmark in the web browser it went to a page which seemed to think I was using a 5800 instead of an N97. It's still doing this which I presume is a mistake on Nokia's part and maybe a mis-detection.

However, today I used the N-Gage bookmark, and it's got N97 listed as one of the devices and the page that allows you to get the N-Gage software is working (around 10MB download) so it looks like they've now made the N-Gage client available for N97 users. The N-gage website looks rubbish on the N97 though - very pixelated and like it has been built for much smaller screens, clicking the link to "news" brings up a page with very little on it.

Wierd? I downloaded the sis (again) via the n-gage link from the web browser and got exactly the same error message (can not install, etc).

Has anyone actually got N-Gage working on an N97?

According to GSM Arena there is now a version that is available for the N97. Version 1.20 (1511) should be compatible. However I'm still getting the same error on N-Gage.com too.
