Hello everyone, I'm new to your forum so I'm not sure I'm posting at the right place.
I have a problem.
Yesterday I bought myself a secondhand N96-1 from Marktplaats.
It's from January this year and was un-simlocked from Vodafone by the previous owner.
Since it had OS 12.043.098.1 on it, I updated today to 20.050, this went ok.
Now I can't enter the short cut icons on top of my screen anymore.
I have to open the menu and go to the contacts to get there.
Also the right button which opens the clock doesn't work either.
Below the short-cut icons there were lines like connected to ... , ect, they are gone too.
Has anyone an idea of what is wrong? Or more important, how to solve this.
Thank in advance, Erwin.
Did you check : Menu > Instruments > Settings > General > Personaly > Stanby Mode > Active Standby > On ?
When Act Stby is Off , the D-Pad ( Navigation Key) + the two Softkeys will have Shotcuts to ( to be set ) Applications .

Thanks fot your reply but,
Beste jApi,
in the menu "stand-by", I have only 3 options to choose:
snelkoppeliingen
standby thema
e-mail melding
Geen van alle geeft mij de mogelijkheid om active standby te kiezen.
Which one of the three is activated ? Try them one by one . Start with Stanbby Theme and see what happens .
Try , in case this doesn't work , rebooting the phone ( turn off and on) a few times . Or a Reset : see this thread :

Your suggestion was right.
if I change the short cut bar from horizontal (on the top) to vertical (left side), All seem to be working again.
When I switch back to a top bar, the problem is still there???
Switching on and of does not help.
So I guess I have to accept that there is a flaw in the newest operating system.
Hi Erwin . Normally an OS update is an improved OS : Better than before . So I think is not an OS Software issue , but something else :
1. Hardware : button defect , moist problem , another button (like camera key ) got wrongly fixed (stuck key)
2. Settings : see above
3. Another corrupted file interfering .
Hope you will find out !
