Facebook has never worked so i thought i would uninstall and reinstall but now it's disappeared completely also bbc i player has done the same . Also for some reason both apps can't be found on the ovi site (why?)
Anyone else had these issues ?

Yes this is a known issue. Once you remove facebook app you cannot get it back. Nobody knows why nokia does these stupid things but then why haven't they fixed the call log bug? What happened to conversations? And internet radio? If we start asking logical questions about nokia our heads will explode.
You can at least get the iPlayer back.
[EDIT] I wonder if there's any way for any of us to find the widget on our N97's, copy it to our PC and post it up here for allmine.
Unfortunetly bbc i player can't be found on ovi either .

This is possible but only if sumone hacks there n97 and as far as im aware it isnt hackable yet
change your mobile device in https://store.ovi.com/my/settings/account
to 5800
now do a search for facebook .. send to my mobile ..
in theory you should get the installer which is a stub file .. then be able to download / install the 1MB application file.
Good luck with this .. let us know if it works.
Oh .. set your device back to N97 when you're done.
Why they don't allow you to set for s60 v5 .. prolly to stop SamSungs I guess 😉
