Has anyone else noticed a problem when entering text messages using the on-screen keyboard?
I've got it set to predictive text, (two swirly lines to the left of the pen and then Abc or abc to the right of the pen) and if I press '2' to bring up 'a b c' it shows a '2'.
If I press any other key such as '4' it brings up 'i' so it isn't as though it's misunderstanding the on-screen press for a long press to bring up a number. I'm only tapping the "keys" with the edge of my fingernail and very quickly, there's no chance of holding the "key" down. If I tap * it'll change to an A.
I've tried to teach the dictionary to enter 'a' by constantly correcting it, but even after 50+ entries of '2' it still hasn't learnt. Turning predictive text off allows it to correctly register 'a' for one press, 'b' for two, 'c' for three, '2' for four presses, and then the other characters on further presses.
Anyone else getting the same, or does your on-screen keypad correctly give you an 'a'?
Whilst on the subject of the correction/prediction... I'm finding that the hardware qwerty keyboard often (but far from always) won't let me use a "," and wants to use a "'." instead, and often have to press up on the directionpad to get a list of words and select the one with a comma after it instead. The on-screen guide to the method being used confirms that I've pressed the shift key to allow the use of the , but still often puts a . instead.
