Internet Speed

Before I bought my omnia I saw a video of the omnia hd and the iphone doing a internet speed test. it was on hdomnia.com
On that video the omnia just beat the iphone. And the iphone is pretty fast. So I thought the omnia would be a fine surfer.
But I felt mine was pretty slow. So I pitted it against my very nice but old N95-8gb. I had an ipod touch and the n95 always lost against it when I ran them head to head. But to my surprise the n95 was faster than the omnia!
How can this be? The omnia should be faster in every way. More ram, faster cpu etc. And a newer version of the same browser.
Is it just my omnia or are they all this slow?

Can't say for sure what your problem is but I had an N95 and the Omnia is at least twice as fast.

I did a factory reset and internet browsing seems much faster now. Certainly faster than the n95 at least. I still won't be happy until it's as fast or at least close to the iphone 3gs though. Nokia or samsung or whoever makes this browser needs a serious kick in the ass. Palm did it on their first version of the pre for crying out loud. And the pre,3gs and i8910 all share the same cpu.

The phone got really slow again. Had to another hard reset. After which it got really fast again. But I'd hate having to do this every week just to keep the internet speed going. If anyone has any ideas what I can do without having to hard reset I would appreciate it. I've tried clearing all personal data in the browser. It could have been some app I installed. But I doubt it. Anyways, I'll have to try keeping it app free for a while and see what happens.
