My phone crashed again today, don't know why. On boot up, my text messages, email accounts and widgets had disappeared.
Another reboot recovered the widgets. However the phone is still missing all text messages and mail accounts.
I really don't like this, any thoughts?
Cheers
Simon

check that your message storage hasn't changed.
messaging -> options -> settings -> other -> memory in use
It hadn't. They've both gone. Nothing is there. At all. Im thinking of keeping my N95 and Synchronising back and forth every night.

Thats me out of ideas then.
Mines not had that problem, or any problem for that matter.
i've installed loads of things, and the worst thats happened is some of the apps (most of them not made for N97) didn't work, so i just uninstalled them.
Other than the "Slide Lock Problem", which i don't really mind too much.
This has happened to me three times already. I can't really offer any solution other than to re-add your email (although most of the settings remain intact but the account and it's messages simply disappear) and move on.
It's slightly annoying, but not horribly so.
What's really irking me is that half of my contacts are organized [Last Name, First] and the other half [First Name Last]. I use Google Sync and my contacts on the G are perfectly fine, and I have it set to use [Last, First] in the phone. Strange bug that makes finger scrolling for contacts confusing, but searching by letter input is still fine.

The phone is really buggy isn't it - can't wait for an update. I had to soft reset yesterday (which I thought wouldn't require me to start from scratch in setting the phone up - but it did) because any internet based app wouldn't load.
Annoying!
That happened to me once too, but I love the form factor of the phone. So I'll just pull up my pants and wait for the "magical" software update to fix everything.
