... to the destinations problem talked about in various threads?
At the moment if I have the widgets using the 3G data connection then when I start up the web browser and select a page it wont give me the option of using a wifi connection (cos obviously it is currrently using the 3G connection for the widgets), it just loads the pages over thr GSM network.
Obviously I want to use 3G for the widgets rather than wifi so I can move around freely in and out of coverage, whilst using wifi for the web, etc.
Anyone figured this would yet?
In my S60 v 3 as follows : Web > Settings > General > Access Point > (to : ) Always Ask . Must be similar in S60 v 5

yeah, v5 is a bit different n the N97, it can use different access points at the same time for differing applications, which can also be frustrating. If I'm at home, I want to use wifi for email, web and widgets, but then out and about, use the gprs connection, its not as simple as setting the hpone to ask which access point should be used. At least, I can get that it to be that simple...
Hi
I've had the same question in my mind, whilst at home i would like to browse using the wifi facility but feel sure i'm connecting to the internet via Orange, my N95 always asked me how i wanted to connect to the internet, but the N97 won't, even though i've clicked the "ask upon request" button.
So, i go about it the long way round.
Menu - settings - connectivity - wireless lan - then my wlan - options - start web browsing.
At least then i know i'm definitly using home wifi facility.
If anyone has a quicker way, please say : )

As long as you don't see the GPRS/3G solid arrows then you can be assured (AFASIK) that you are not using that connection or costing you money.
I find that indeed the explorer does not ask you which access point to use if GPRS/3G is already connected, so I set the home screen widgets to offline, and press an hold the red button to disconnect GPRS/3G and the explorer will then ask me what access point to use.
But it's all a bit low tech though, it shouldn't be that hard!
