Samsung Omnia (i8910) HD debranding - Vista

Hi all,

Have recently acquired a i8910 HD and want to de-brand ASAP. I have all the debranded firmware (and the Orange firmware to re-brand) and Symbian Flashing Rom v1.50. My bootloader version is 1.47.

My problem is that I only have Vista (x32 and x64) machines and I understanding that the flashing process only works in XP.

Does anyone know of a way I can flash/debrand in Vista? Alternatively, can I get either of my Vista machines to emulate XP (I've tried changing the compatability mode without success)?

Thanks in advance,

Best way is either download a copy of MS Virtual PC, or VMWare Server, you can then install a copy of Windows XP in that virtual machine.

Thanks for the tip. However, MS Virtual PC 2007 isn't supported by Vista Home Premium (x32 or x64). Will give VMWare a go.

If you load a copy of XP up in VMWare - so long as the VM allows you to attach USB devices (certainly the enterprise sofatware does, but I haven't used the free home version) then you can flash your phone from the virtual XP machine 😊
