Thats quite a compelling price

I've been looking around for confirmation of N97 PAYG prices from 3 - have you actually seen this confirmed somewhere or is it still rumour?
I can only see contract prices on their website ATM (I'm currently on a retention contract with them that I'd be daft to give up so am looking to upgrade with a PAYG handset)
found it on mobile industry review here
It comes from 3's own business PR dept.
I'd guess the pay as you go deal wouldn't be available until full launch tomorrow.
Looks promising - thanks. Guess I'll be making a detour to a 3 shop on my way to work tomorrow morning!
I was so shocked at that price I neglected the comments on the MIR post,
TrevorBennett reports .....
I've just phoned 2 three stores and both reported the handset being 369 + 10 min top up, so 380!
Still a good price.
Grrrr!! :banghead:
I've now spent a fair portion of my day traipsing around the various 3 Stores in Nottingham to try and get my hands on a PAYG N97 with various reactions:
- "I don't think it's available on PAYG" (needless to say it was when they checked)
- "We've not booked the stock in yet"
- "We've not had our delivery yet"
...until it got later in the day when the responses had shifted to:
- "We've only got a few in and have to keep them for contract customers"
- "We've just sold our last one"
- "We've had an email from head office saying not to sell them on PAYG"
This last one was particularly frustrating as it followed on from being told to "come back in half an hour when they've been booked in", then when I returned 40 mins later, waiting around chatting to one of the salesmen for 5 mins whilst they finished it off.
Not a happy bunny, especially as I've been a pretty loyal 3 customer for the past 4-5 years and only wanted to give someone 380 of my hard earned cash - surely it shouldn't be this difficult.
