Have you registered on the Tipic web site, if not that may be the problem

Whenever I try to connect it says Connection failed check your GPRS account in your phone. I've tried changing the Network connection to Allowed, but it still doesn't work.

In the console part it says: java.io.IOException: Status = -28

My WebViewer won't connect to the intornet either. What's wrong with my phone!??!?!?

You sure you have Internet GPRS connection, not WAP GPRS?

Pretty sure. My email works, so that should mean it's internet right?

I have the same problem and i'm on Vodafone Live... so yes, GPRS is working... and i have registered in the tipic.com site....... someone PLEASE help

Contact your carrier, you may be on a GPRS for WAP only access, this i know prevents access to email over GPRS, you may need full Internet over GPRS for it to work.

In your GPRS settings, check that Internet GPRS has it's IP set to 0.0.0.0

this happens to me sometimes but if i just leave it to carry on, itll eventually connect but i have noticed it only happens to me in the morning,

Problem in getting register myself with yahoo's. ICQ and MSN are alright

I cant Install tipicme on nokia 7650.
When i Install Tipic on mi Nokia 7650 it sais that it has been installed, but it dony appears in the Java applications Menu on the phone.

I have tried to install several times and it never installs.

Can you help me?

A Comparison between JustYak (www.justyak.com) and TipicME (www.tipic.com)

Have just download Tipic IM ver 1.2 beta on 7650 and tested it. I think
tipicME features like register new user, add/delete buddy, set icq,yahoo, etc all need
to be done by PC client. I even cannot exit the app. JustYak done everything on the phone , much better approach.

It is currently size is around 90Kbytes, much bigger than JustYak 65Kb, waste of precious memory.

Agree. JustYak connection is always very stable. Couldn't bear with TipicME. Anyway, my only vice is chatting so the JustYak chatrooms implementation have my full support :agrue:

Hmmm - unless I'm missing something here....
Why use ANY of these when you can use IM+ and connect direct to the MSN & ICQ servers themselves and NOT go thru and PAY per message a 3rd party proxy?

I use IM+ and find it VERY stable, fast, reliable AND I don't pay any other charges exept for GPRS.

Are there some kind of SUPER benefits of using these others that makes it worth paying another company to pass on your messages??

All the feature you talk about are available in TipicME. You can add/delete/edit buddy, setup icq, msn etc. Did you tried it before talk? 😉
Also, do you noticed the big red button in the menu? It allow you to return to the main menu, and so leave the program. The bigger size was wasted for the graphics.

@willbrady: you don't pay nothing else gprs transfer to use TipicME...

Gives you a couple of messages per connection and enough features turned on to let play and decide to buy it.

willbrady, we make a lot of work to develope and support TipicME. It's a free software, but we have a lot of user -> a lot of bandwidth -> a lot of server usage -> a lot of money spent.
By the way, everybody can have personal opinion about a sw, but I can't allow other people try to denigrate our work in THIS way. Untill today we are working a lot without make money, but also without create conflit with other competitors, like IM+. I've every time told I'm the developer of TipicME and VNCviewer, I've every time used my name to firm my posts; I don't like people who use muliple identities and false names to advertise and spam. This is my point of view, no fight, of course!! 😃

There is nothing wrong with critasism, it makes a better product, but I agree with you, this just looks like another softie saying your product is bad just to sell more of his own. That's not fair on you!

We must respect the softies as they make our phone great!
That's why I NEVER use cracked software and just use Demo's to evaluate the BUY the full product if I use it.

I personally don't use your program, but respect your position and was first to appologise when made a wrong assesment of your program.

I do respect the money & time spent on s/w development and I am not using any cracked s/w either. May be my English is so bad that I miss-interpreted Will's first message. I thought Will suggested that IM+ was free, so I was surprised to find out it is not, later. I was pulling Will's leg. But I appreciate Will's advice on the demo s/w.

I am an end user and I want to choose a product that suits me. I don't give a f about who run which f companies. If I have to pay for a good product or service, that's fine with me.

If I spend my precious time (well...) to give my opinion about your product, please thank me and improve on it. If your product is good, just stay cool my friend. Nobody can run you down.

I don't necessary like blantant (depending on your standard..) advertising as posted by poor Scarborogh either, but I am educated enough to know that you got to try out these products to see which ones works & suits you and not just read about the marketing words.
