Missing Photos

I seem to be missing photos from the default Photo program on the N97. It's displayed pictures I have taken during the first few days of having the phone, but any new and subsequent photos taken will not appear. They show up in the File Explorer and in Nokia BetaLabs Photo Browser though.

It's abit annoying since when trying to create an MMS from scratch and I attempt to add a photo attachment, it will only show me those first few photos and not find any new ones.

Am I missing something or does anyone else have an experience with this bug, if that is what it is?

i'm having the same problem i have rectified it now by rebooting the phone but still missing a few from that time when they weren't showing up i can view them fine in xplore !!

I don't have a N97 , but E90 . I think Photo has similarities with Gallery in S60 v 3 . I have the same problem when there is a lot of Pictures filed - like more than 100 . The "virtual" app Gallery gets overloaded , getting slow and no success like adding Pictures to Contacts .
There is a Workaround :
File all your pictures in MemoryCard
Pictures you need for Contacts : File in DeviceMemory
Pictures for MMS : File only temporary in Device Memory
Remove MemoryCard , and do your task
Finished : Put MemoryCard back

This does seem to be one of the most common problems. None of the pics I imported from my N95 show either, nor a few from when I first got the 97.

The Vidoes and TV app works at showing old vidoes that I took on the 95 though.

Hopefully the next firmware update will sort this out.

After the Firmware Upgrades for the E90 , the "Gallery" got smoother and faster , but still gots its LIMITS cosidering the amount of pictures . Increasing to over 1000 pics or more , getting slower and slower .
A workaround can improve this : Hiding pics , with third party Filemanagers like Y-Browser or X-Plore , will improve the Speed .
"Gallery" doesn't see these pics anymore .
Zipping the pics is also a great speeding up tool . You can still view the pics in Filemanager though . X-Plore does this with most ease .
BTW : adding a thumbnail to contacts can still be done by opening the picture > Options > Use picture in Contact .
Hardware Bug (as I understand) : since the microSD Card is hotswappable , it's a curious situation : having to take battery out before inserting/removing Card !

That does seem to be the problem. I had alot of pictures backed up from my old phone on the card, along with a backup of a system games folder for WinMo. It kept wanting to add all those picture files to Gallery and there came our bug. I've since deleted the folders from the card since I have them backed up on my PC anyways, but I think I'll try to ZIP them up like you said and see if they remain hidden from Gallery.

Also, the MicroSD card is not under the battery itself, only under the battery cover. So you don't have to remove the battery to swap it out. Only the SIM card is under the battery.
