I have a nokia e71. the version which i have is 200.21.118 and i read at many places that the latest firmware version is 210.xx.xxx but when i try to update my phone with NSU it states that i have latest firmware.
the information which my mobile shows when i press *#0000# is:

i desperately want to update this firmware as with this version i am having purple colored tinted pictures and i read that with version 210.xx.xxx the problem is solved.
what can be the issue? and how can i update? please help

you need to change your product code with NSS first, then use NSU... look in the N95 forum, I think theres a good write up there..
if it run fine and not crashing why bother updating the firmware.........

I noticed every time I try to run Nokia Software Updater to update the firmware on my E71 I get an error. I confirmed that it was not a USB issue therefore I checked the other avenue which was the network. I made sure the Windows Firewall was disabled when running the updater but still got the 'error connecting' message. I downloaded a network auditing application to trace network connections. It seems as though there are a few 'drop-outs' while trying to access the Nokia update server. Should I change my product code and see if that solves the problem?
