Best place for themes?

I've found a few sites, however they all state that the themes are compatible with Symbian 60 3rd ed. and nothing about 5th ed.

Being new to the world of Symbian OS could someone confirm whether these themes will be 100% compatible with my N97?

No, I couldn't give you a 100% guarantee, but all the themes I had with my N95 ( Symbian S60 3rd Ed ) work fine with my N97, not a problem. Howeevr, some of them look great and some look rubbish. I have a Noka theme which looks great, looks better than it did on the N95.

But some other themes have had to 'tile' the background image to fit the size of the screen of the N97 so you can see the tiling effect, and it's not pretty.

If you can get them free, then try them.

Many 3rd edition themes work just fine but the virtual keyboards and other 5th edition specific areas will follow the default theme.

There are a few "made for 5th edition" themes, symbian planet is a decent place to try. or do a search for tehk themes, he hasn't made too many but the quality is very good.

Never looked there before but will check it out. It's definitely worth checking out p@sco's themes too. Also try PiZero and babinokia, they're both doing quality 5th edition themes.

Thanks for the links guys... some decent ones on those sites😉

I'm looking for a nice crisp white one to go with my white phone, don't really like the default white one as it's more of a light grey than pure white. So if anyone knows of one please give me a shout 😊

Try PureWhite by pizero. It's a 3rd Ed theme but works fine on my N97. I also have PureBlack installed and we obviously think alike as I have a black N97. 😊

Is it me or do themes only show up in the themes list if installed to the C drive...where there is bugger all space as it is?

Its just you, any theme i've installed to the memory card shows up in the Themes list.

No idea why yours doesnt! Have you tried installing to Mass Memory?

Yep! was trying to install to mass memory to leave space free in C, tried installing to E: after a restart and seems themes are appearing now! Strange...
