Hi, is there anyway to fix or way around the way the phone rings annoyingly by the 1st few seconds someone calls you the ring volume is very low (hardly hear it) then suddenly goes full blast there for you dont get to hear the beginning of the ringtone or song???
PLS HELP! Anyway to fix annoying increasing ring???
I don't own a i8910 . But in Symbian you can set ringtones to your wish . Go to Profiles in the Menu . Choose a profile and do your own settings . I think the "how to" is listed in the manual as well .

Assuming you are using a fairly standard Home Screen (and not an Orange one if you are in the UK; gosh, did the Orange homescreen annoy me), at the top, to the right of the clock, it states which profile you are using e.g. 'General' or 'Silent'.
A profile is a set of parameters that control the handset's basic setup and can be changed quickly (e.g. by pressing and holding down the hangup call/off hardware button for a few secs - you get a list of all profiles, including any personalised ones you have created). These are great for quickly changing from say, Loud to a Silent environment.
To change, or personalise a profile on the i8910 (i.e. change and then save it out as your own customised profile called 'djsteel3000'😉, do the following
Menu -> Settings -> Personal -> Profiles -> tap once on the profile you are using, e.g. 'General'
go to the Options button at the bottom
I would choose 'Create new' i.e. create a new profile
Go down the list. one by one, and select the parameters to each function you want to change
For your question: it will be the 6 choices given under the parameter 'Ringing type', ranging from continuous ringing, through to silent. There appears to be only one kind of 'ascending ringing' parameter.
I found I had to play around quite a bit to learn the Symbian 3rd v5 OS and how to rename, create new profiles, etc. but essentially you just have to keep at it and my rule is that whenever I see the button 'Option' at the bottom of the screen, I immediately press it and see what functionality it hides, as the functionality changes on a screen by screen basis.
It doesn't give you the same options every time.
I have learnt that the 'options' button is my secret friend, so to speak.
I sympathise with you trying to figure it all out!
