I changed my product code from UK from EURO1 to install the new firmware. Does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether it's really necessary to reset the phone afterward?

I'm prepared to do it if it'll make a big difference but don't really want to go to all the trouble if it's not needed.

I didn't. Changed the code, did the update and everything came back as i set it up originally.

So do you not need to restore from backup after the update?

No, after the uipdate everything was how I left it. All in place and in tact.
