When I first got my phone I loaded some music onto it to hear how good the speakers were. The next time I went to play some music it started trying to load track after track and told me that it couldn't load the track.
I deleted all the music and reloaded it again. Same problem - first they would play and then after a track or two nothing would work. I deleted everything again and loaded a single song. Still the same.
I then bricked the phone trying to update the FW. Now I've got that fixed and with the latest Euro 1 FW it's still doing the same.
My music is on a 16GB card and there is only about 2 GB on it.
Any ideas?
John
After I updated the firmware of my N97 NAM, it told me my music files were corrupted. So I did another HARD RESET and have been reprogramming the phone from scratch.
This morning I used Nokia Music and let it re-sync with the phone.
BE SURE TO READ THE HELP ON HOW TO DO THIS. IT IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR AS INTUITIVE AS IT OUGHT TO BE.
It does work, though now and all music (698 songs) seem to play without problems.
Where can I find the help on how to do this?
Thanks,
John
I presume that you have Nokia Music loaded on your desktop PC.
After starting Nokia Music, look in the upper right hand corner of the display for the "Menu" pulldown.
From this pulldown, select "Help".
Read about connecting your phone to the PC as well as using Edit->Options to set the transfer and sync settings.
Cheers!
I'm running on a mac so no Nokia music for me I'm afraid.
The advice I was looking for was how to do a total reset of the phone. I'm hoping that this will sort out my music problems and Accuweather.
Does anyone out there have a link that I can use?
John
There's a Nokia Multimedia plug-in for the Mac that is supposed to download music to your Nokia phone:
http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/nokia-multimedia-transfer/download
It doesn't list the N97 as a compatible device (yet) but the 5800 is there (also S60 5th edition), so I would expect it should work.
Good luck!
Nokia Multi-Media transfer does work partially with the N97, but it tells you that it is not recognized. It will still copy over music files and photos though.
The main pain in the butt is that there is not an i-Sync plug in yet for the N97 so I have to enter any appointments in my mac and N97 separately. hopefully it wont be too long though as I'm close to shutting down my N97 and going back to my N96 until there is another software revision and i-Sync plugin.
