GPS Maps with Contacts data

Since I have my N97 NAM working again, I've been spending a lot of time exploring the settings and configuring in my Favorites.

One nice feature in the Maps application is that you can Search for an Address by having it look the address up in your Contacts.

A few points though...

1. Microsoft Outlook Contacts want the country to be "United States of America"...Maps wants USA.

2. Maps cannot understand ZIP+4 convention so after the address from your Contact has been recalled into the address search dialog screen you'll have to delete the extra information out.

3. Maps does not accept multiple spellings of common road terms. To find an address it must match in the map. For example "Willacy Place" is in the map database as "Willacy Pl". "M L King Jr" is in as "ML King Jr". Likewise, expect Rd for Road, Dr for Drive, Ave for Avenue, etc.

A reminder...to get the best accuracy out of your GPS be sure to go to the Locations applet and set your elevation while getting a GPS fix. Remember to add the distance from the ground to where the N97 is into your elevation number.
