Nokia just added a Nokia N86 iSync plug-in to its download area for Mac owners looking to sync PIM data to their smartphone. iSync is free and works seamlessly to transfer Contacts and Calendar information to Address book and iCal on the Mac, even between multiple devices. Here's the iSync download page. PS. Note that the N97 is still not supported.

Another fail on Nokia's part. How do you release a flagship phone (N97) without all of the logistics to go with it? If nothing else, Apple does get this part correct, and yes I know they have only one phone to release so it is easier, but Nokia has known about this phone for quite some time now. No excuse for not having a plugin.
Fail, fail, fail.....
Um.... I think you're being a bit harsh. There probably aren't more than a few thousand N86s in the wild at the moment - ok, so this plug-in is a week or so late, but I don't think this counts as dropping the ball completely....
People are a bit too quick to jump on the Nokia hate bandwagon aren't they?
I know. I agree its not a pefect company, but then which company is?
And lots of companys (in other categories of products) do this as well. They launch a product and then additional support facilities and addons are released in a phased manner.
And nobody is forcing anyone to love Nokia. If you dont like, dont buy their products. People seem to behave like someone is wringing their arms, holding it behind their back and are forced to buy and use Nokia only products. Like we were in a monopoly or something. Its a free market. Buy what you want. Any brand. Any product.
@Steve,
While I tend to agree with most of your posts, reviews, articles, I have to completely disagree with you here for the following reasons.
As a full-time Mac user (not a part-timer such as yourself), the ability to sync my data with my Mac is just as critical as you using that piece of bloatware (PC Suite) and even bloatierware (Ovi Suite) to move your data around. By Not having the logistics in place for me to make a smooth transition with contact, and calendar management, Nokia fails. The N97 is not a new phone. Nokia has a habit of being habitually late when releasing Mac related items. This is known in the industry inside of Nokia and outside. 3rd party developers have been thwarted because Nokia did not release the N97 to them so that they could do Nokia's job and develop the plugins. Another fail. I sat through a 2 and a half interview with a Nokia rep to discuss Nokia's failings and what they could do better. Every time, it came back to Nokia being late to the party, and being behind the curve to deliver services to coincide with their phones, so in my opinion, you are wrong in your characterization of this incident. Nokia missed the boat on something they should have done in the first place.
@JohnnyN,
It is said: "It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it"..
@malerocks,
It is not about being forced to purchase this or that. It is about being ahead of the game. How would you like to purchase a phone but Nokia says the batteries aren't quite there yet? For those of us that use Mac's, the plugins are a critical piece of the equation. We are stranded without this. Surely this can not be that hard to understand. For those that use PC Suite or Ovi Suite, you would not understand this because you have the software on a CD, but for Mac users, we do not need all of the crap that comes with the phone. Just a plugin, and we can sync our data much better and faster than any Windows user.
I challenge anyone here to remove PC Suite, or Ovi from their computer, then remove all contacts and calendar info and then imagine what it is like for Mac users. Let's see if you are so understanding then.
Considering no one to accepted my challenge or refuted my arguments, I will just say: Game, set, match to the Mac community and the continued disappointment with the way Nokia delivers services and logistics.
Mac community - 1
Nokia delivering the goods - 0
Yet again sapporobaby shows the world what a complete cock he is by turning an innocent article into a pathetic rant.

@youknowdick,
Once again you hide behind an obscure dickname and post from troll land. Come out from under your skirt. If I am wrong then prove me wrong. If not Poppa Tango Foxtrot Oscar.
Sorry people, I regret behaving like a total dick on this website again. I have mental issues and just cannot help being a moron most of the time.
Seeing that no one here other than the trolls who come out when it's time to feed took my challenge to delete all of their contacts, and cal data, and try to figure out how to put it back have stopped back by, it just shows that this is all NATO.
To the self hater, don't worry, puberty will kick in soon.
Ahhhhh i'm going absolutely mad!!!!!! Must stop talking to myself again and get over my pathetic arrogant attitude!
Why do I have to be such a knobjockey on a public forum all of the time?
KILL ME NOW
Some people on here really don't have the wits they were born with.
sapporobaby, your quotes are irrelevent and you seem like an Apple snob. There's a perfectly good reason why Nokia don't immediately support the Mac, and that's because it is a niche minority platform. Windows is a more flexible, and widely used operating system and no matter how many times Mac tries to trump PC in the adverts, it will never sell as well.
If you're so enamoured with Apple, then buy an iphone 3gs with itunes. But then I suspect you never had any intention to buy a Nokia anyway, you're just here to trash them.
@JohnnyN,
I am going to assume you can read because you took the time to answer my post.
I own, I say again, I currently own an N97 (E75, N85, several other Nokia phones, and am a beta tester for their phones and services) which has zero point zero support from Nokia. If you had read my reply to Steve you would have also seen that Nokia did not release the phone to 3rd party developers that normally pick up the slack for Nokia by developing 3rd party apps to fill the niche that Nokia often leaves void. There is nothing wrong with purchasing a product then being annoyed that it comes up short in some of the most basic of logistical support. Unlike many here (not sure if you are in this bunch but for sure many of the posters) I expect a bit more for my money, especially if this is supposed to be a flagship phone. So, read my original post again then make an argument that has merit. My challenge still stands. Delete your information, uninstall Ovi or PC Suite and then see how patient and forgiving you will be. I am sure your tune will change.
By the way, your niche argument holds less and less water. It has nothing to do with being a niche player but being a global player. Mac users as well as Linux users pay quite a bit of money to Nokia for products and they deserve support just as well. Your completely myopic view of the telecoms industry is inline with the global brainwashing and sheep herding that is prevalent among many on this site. Steve made a comment but you see he has not returned to back up his words because they are indefensible. You and the rest of the sheeple are cordially invited to prove me wrong with valid arguments, not emotion based tripe created in fantasy. You might want to read my post where I spoke with the Nokia reps and they admitted that they are usually late with releasing logistic support for their phones. It only took 6 weeks for Ovi support for the 5800XM, 4 plus for the N85, and so on. So instead of being a Nokia apologist, you might want to ask Nokia why they release phones that have limited support.
