Hi,
I am new to symbian (just moved from windows mobile) so please don't flame me 😊
I am hoping to part unlock my 6220c v4.13 hopefully mainly to shut up the camera and install a few apps but am having problems

I got a dev cert from http://cer.s603rd.cn/ along with the new pc signing software. The site appears to say I need to use it though the flaky englist is a bit hard to understand...

-----------------------------
Japan April 9 update signature tool, has applied for before the certificate can not be used
Certificate error if prompted, use the bottom of the new version of Signature Tools
*Please use this site only authorized signature to the software tool with a certificate signatures
*Powered signature tool KEY document already contains the certificate directly into the signature can
*Other channels to obtain the signature of the certificate can not meet the signature site
--------------------------------
Anyone know what they are trying to say...??

Anyway, I put the sis file I want to sign and the .cert file all in the same folder, select the cert file, select the sis file press go, the progress bar shoots up and a window comes up showing the expected path and file name but there is nothing in the folder, no new file??? Any ideas what I am doing wrong, Im running xp-sp3.

I also tried the mobile signer (though I think that its too old) it creates a new file that is marked signed but I get a certificate error...
The time is set correctly on the phone
the install options are set to all.

Anyone got any idea what I am doing wrong?
many thanks
Jay

Hi,
wrong sort of unlocking, my phone is already network unlocked, I want to remove the phone security so my phone is my own and I can do with it what I wish not what symbian/nokia allow me to, for example mute the camera, install unsigned applications etc... They don't support newer nokia phones, just the ones you can get a free unlock code calculator for anyway..
but thanks for taking the time to reply
