I just purchased an OEM BL-5B battery. This one is made in Hungary rather than China, which the original one was. It has the hologram sticker and I did the verification, I can see the 1,2,3,4, dots by angling it. The thing seems legit.
I put the battery in the phone, plugged it into the charger, nothing.....I press the power button, the blue LED blinks quickly 4 times. Nothing at all happens. I plug my old balooned up BL-5B into the phone, the phone turns on. Wtf? Is the battery defective or something? It won't even go into charge mode.
I have been having issues with the charger plug area, it does not hold the charger pin in, you have to push it in, and slowly back your hand away, otherwise it loses contact if you even TOUCH the wire. lol
I also purchased a flex ribbon cable (still being shipped), which should solve my white screen of death issue, combined with distorted coloring when the screen finally decides to respond.
I love this phone, but I've been very frustrated with the incredibly slow OS, crappy low light camera quality, memory full errors like no tomorrow (EVEN ZOOMING INTO A PICTURE WITH NOTHING RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND! This is a smartphone, it should zoom into a picture no sweat....), meh battery life, intermittently working vibrate mode, distorted earpiece sound, crappy slider, shitty build tolerances. Hmm....some other things too but I still love this phone. lol That's why I'm trying to rescue this old thing instead of jumping on the iPhone bandwagon. Who doesn't want a light saber going BVVVVVVM BWOOOM, or the accelerometer based apps? Silly, and incredibly entertaining apps, my weakness......
Enough ranting..........do you guys have any idea what I should do? I emailed the ebay seller, he/she has a near perfect rating, and is located in Canada, none of that Hong Kong shit, so I assume he/she's legit. Awaiting response atm.
