Is 3G in my device BROKEN??? :O

Hi!

I have a N95-1 and never got the chance to try 3G connectivity. Now, testing with a SIM that is known to have 3G enabled flat data transfer, I insert it in my phone and the signal goes to GSM. I then force it to UMTS under options and it sits there in "3G" with no bars on the signal and no connection at all. When I go back to GSM, it works OK.

Now that very same SIM (and even my original one), when plugged in a N85 next to my phone, works fine at 3G. So... the question is; is there something I'm missing here? Why doesn't it detect 3G signal in my phone?

This things are facts:

- I'm near a strong antenna (the other phone gets full signal)
- I've recently hard resetted my phone (I've done it several times since the last 3 years and it never worked with 3G)
- I'm using latest FW version (v31.0.0.17)

Anyway... I'd really appreciate any light you can shed in this! Thanks in advance for your time

ur N95 is working on unavailable 3G frequency, so its not working 😊
happened with me too. its using 2100MHZ if i rember correctly & my provider's 3G runs at 1700MHZ so i only get 2G speeds.....sucks (since this is a 3.5 G capable phone).
but newer nokia have diffrent frequency.
