N97 music player

Is there a better / alternative music player available anywhere for the N97? The default player is poor in my opinion - the player I had on my 2 year old Sony W960 was way ahead of this Nokia product.

Simple things like being able to hide artists associated with compilations seems to be missing. The N97 only seems to use a limited subset of the ID3 tags and specifically excudes album-artist for compilations, so if you have a lot of compilations, you see hundreds of artists all with one songs each.

I don't like the views by artist or album - no indications at the top level of number of albums / songs.

The albums view only gives the album name, no artist.

I've tried a product called Powermp3 but it isn't working fully on the N97 - screen goes black in landscape mode and the albumartist tag isn't utilised either.

One other thing I've noticed is the music library index doesn't recognise where you have deleted files even after a referesh. I presume this is yet another bug though.

I'm a bit disappointed as this looked like the ideal music 'phone. I bet the new Sony Idou/Satio/whatever manages this all of this fine when it comes out.

Try LCG Jukebox, not fully utilized for the N97 but hopefully soon, works ok on the N97 though, costs a few quid mind you.

Thanks for the reply, I've given that a try too. Worse the the native player... :frown:

Agreed, not too good on the touch screen phone. Stopped using it myself until LCG get it sorted.
