Nothing in life is truly 'free', and that includes GPS Navigation apps.
You can download worldwide maps for free on Nokia smartphones, but to enable turn-by-turn route navigation you need to buy a license for the Ovi Maps app.
Other 3rd party apps (GarminXT, Route66 etc) charge you for the application and a single country map - then charge you again (and again!) for alternate country maps or map ugdates.
If you really must have FREE GPS navigation on your Nokia handset, go to google and search for your preferred GPS app product , followed by the word 'unsigned'.
(You will also need to get a self-sign certificate from the likes of opda.net.cn or hack your O/S)
Personally I find it easier just to buy a Symbian GPS app or OVI license - which will cost 1/2 that of a standalone GPS device like TomTom, NavMan, etc.)
I use google maps, does not have speech announcements though 😞

Google maps is brilliant fun for reference purposes, but has never offered GPS Nagivation functionality (as far as I know).
As I said, turn-by-turn GPS navigation apps are available, but you need to pay for them or find a cracked version.
